A Confession

Friends, I have a confession to make:

I bought a t-shirt.

Now, this may not seem like a big deal at first, but I am trying to keep to my New Year's resolution of not buying any manufactured clothing and making everything from scratch or what I already have.  I could not resist the urge to buy this t-shirt because it was so epic: it had to do with redheads, or gingers, if you will.  I cannot resist "redhead" items.  I've even bought a book about redheads:

So I could not help myself when my friend, Juliet, alerted me to this awesome shirt:

I am completely justifying this purchase by saying it was an early birthday present (way early since my birthday is in July) and it was a shirt that I could not possibly make.

Thanks Juliet for the tip!  I've gotten a ton of compliments and laughs over the shirt.

Even though I still feel a little guilty about breaking my New Year's resolution, my enjoyment with this shirt more than makes up for it.

Have any of you been successful at keeping up with your New Year's resolutions?

  1. Love the shirt! I am having a very hard time with my resolution, which was to give up gossiping at work. I'm a nurse and, in such a female-dominated field, especially on my unit, there's always gossip to be had! I'm trying to not talk about co-workers, but I'm finding it much harder to steer conversations initiated by others away from the negative talk. Because, well, I LOVE to gossip! Makes you think, though, what do they say when I'm away???

  3. It's an awesome shirt and I was sad to be broke the day it came out.

I didn't really make a resolution, I never do. I probably should some day so I have focus with stuff.

  4. Haha! Thanks for all the compliments on the shirt, ladies - it definitely helps with the (occasional) buyer's remorse :)

Elise, I totally hear you about office gossip. I give you a ton of credit for trying not to talk about others! I've tried the trick of saying nothing at all, and it's hard, but sometimes it causes the other people to pause. Let me know how it goes!
