Marvelous Luck and Generous Gifts!

Friends, in the last two weeks, I have been the very lucky winner of two giveaways!  The ever-so-generous Jacq and the fantastically kind Maddie of Madalynne bestowed some wonderful gifts upon me and I just couldn't wait to share them with you.

Jacq was so kind to send me a package of goodies from her stash and from a recent trip to Japan:

I was immediately struck by the card and how sweet it was with the sewn on buttons!

I am in awe of Jacq's skills - it's so lovely!  Her card making skills + her fantastic sewn creations = heaps of talent in one blog.  Check her out - you won't be sorry.

She sent me these lovely vintage buttons, belt buckle, bias trim, and a turquoise zipper (which has already been set aside for a project!).  I am currently searching for the perfect project for the buttons because they are such a fantastic shade of blue.

She also sent this FANTASTIC washi tape - with safety pins and straight pins on it!!!!

My absolute favorite thing of them all was this little gem:

I plan on combining the delightful butterfly brooch (once I've made it, of course) with this pattern that I've won from Madalynne and the lovely Anna of Mrs. Depew's Vintage!

(Sidenote: I am SUCH A FAN of Mrs. Depew's Vintage PDF patterns.  I'm already planning a second version of this swimsuit sans halter strap for next summer!  And of course I'm a fan of Maddie - her tutorials make my sewing so much better, and  I save her weekend posts for when I am feeling stressed - they always make me feel so peaceful.  I've saved several to revisit during the election madness tonight!)

Back to this wonderful concoction I am whipping up: I had been looking for something sparkly and wonderful on Etsy to pair with the blouse when Jacq's package arrived.  Now the divine butterfly brooch will be shown off on the French draped blouse!  I've just put the pattern together and plan on cutting it out of some grey jersey I have in my stash.  I think the combination of the yellow and grey will be just lovely :)  I am envisioning a photo shoot somewhere dramatic and fabulous ... and now my mind is off and running!

Thank you to Jacq, Maddie, and Anna for making my week!  Your generous gifts are so greatly appreciated :)

Much love,
Meg

  3. LUCKY LADY! That blouse pattern is GORGEOUS. I'm not sure I have ample boobage to pull it off, but it might be worth a try for the shot at looking so glamorous.

  4. You're very welcome, thank you for your kind comments, I hope the card still stood up by the time it got to you, I was worried it might get squished en route and the 'prop' buttons fall off, I glue gunned them good and proper! What a wonderful blouse pattern, am looking forward to seeing it made up x
